I've handled, but never shot, their SxS, and OUs in shops. This assessment is pretty on point.

Their metal parts' edges typically have unsanded bits, sharp edges, and they're suuuuuuuper plain, little heavier, but VERY solid.I've fired their single shots in a few types. No issues other than the lockup being kinda tight to snap shut until after they've been worn in a bit. They're usually a fairly priced firearm. My homeboy has had a 20g OU Baikal for probably 20 years with no problems. I think it's his truck gun on the ranch. Can't remember. I know it's his favorite walking around with shotgun. I know it's got two different chokes on it, so maybe check that out. I don't know if that's normal or not, honestly.
I have a 27 em cm. 1-c something. I am not too impressed any more. I had to dremel one chamber 'rounder' to make extraction certain. Firing both barrels would make the ejectors stick. After fixing it, I cut a few mm of the ejector springs, so I wouldn't lose an eye.
They are hefty. It feels like a tank. I got a shorter version, which is just a mistake (for me). I have a Remington 870 Express, which I shoot so much better just because of the extra length. If you like it and it shoulders well, I think you get what you pay for, which is not that bad. I was given a baikal/Remington SPR310 as my second shotgun for my 13th birthday or there around, and it has been a fairly decent OU, mainly kept around for sentimental value.A few years after the Baikal I started to shoot competitively and my instructor despised my mistress Baikal, so it was relegated to bird hunting and the 'friend gun' for clay days. After tearing a half inch line down the receiver on a hunting trip and a fabulous patch up from a local gunsmith she is still kicking after 6 or 7k rounds, though she feels quite loose and bulky to me now. Good for the price, but I'd pick up something else if you're going to put some serious amount of lead through it with clays.
As a collector of H & K's and various Italian over unders, I am always look for a good gun.The Lion, a FABARM o/u was imported many years ago and I still see it on H & K website and it says they recently became the importer of the Fabarm lion, ets.Now I looked on Fabarms and find a FABARM USA with the same address as Ceasar Guerini USA.Then I see Ceasar Guerini boughts FAbARM, but which one the large 100 year old or the newer 5 year old FABARMS, USA?When you email Ceasar Guerini, they reply with a FABARM email address.Does anyone know what is going on. H & K did import various shotguns and had H & K on the barrels, Made in Italy wording, what are current H & K overunders say now?
Randy, I know you are a very knowledgeable shotguner. But, I just bought a Fabarm H&K Lion I SxS not an autoloader. The Box says H&K in large letters with Fabarm under it.

Fabarm H368 Owners Manual Download
The shotgun has Heckler and Koch engraved on it as well as Fabarm and LION I. According to Andrew at Caesar Guerini / Fabarm, H&K was the importer of ones, at least like I just bought, from 1998 until about 2002.Negrini confirmed that they made the cases for these as I called them and got them to send me a part that was missing. The Hard Case is also Imprinted with H&K and Fabarm.BobRobert KittineNew York, New York & Sag Harbor, New YorkLast edited by on Sat Jan 02, 2016 1:06 pm, edited 2 times in total. Randy, I know you are a very knowledgeable shotguner. But, I just bought a Fabarm H&K Lion I SxS not an autoloader.BobI wouldn't begin to dispute how an old SxS was marked.Anyone can read the owners manual for the Fabarm Lion H38 here:. And, the Lion H368, and the Lion H35 for that matter. H & K does not make or currently offer shotguns.
As far as ' The Lion, a FABARM o/u was imported many years ago and I still see it on H & K website and it says they recently became the importer of the Fabarm lion, ets.' Just where is it on the H & K website as claimed?Sure, H & K imported lots of things at one time into the U.S., notably Benelli. The notion that they recently became the importer of 'the Fabarm Lion' and have it on their website is incorrect.
Quite the opposite: H & K makes clear that they currently have nothing to do with Benelli or Fabarm:. Then I see Ceasar Guerini boughts FAbARM, but which one the large 100 year old or the newer 5 year old FABARMS, USA?It is hard to decipher the question, if it is really a question. Fabarm USA is an importer not a manufacturer, a privately held American company, not owned by Fabarm or Caesar Guerini.CG acquired a majority stake of Fabarm, in Italy: now, they are the same company. If this is just a trivia question as to the exact month and year H & K no longer brought over a specific old model, then H & K is who should be asked.-Randyhttp://randywakeman.com/. Although New In The Box, the Fabarm H&K Imported Lion I SxS that I bought was imported by H&K between 1998 and 2002 and I supposed made during those years also. As I also said, Negrini confirmed that they made the cases for H&K to put the Fabarms of that period in. I have googled things and gotten hits that were postings from many years prior and some might look like a current web site, when in fact they are a web site from many years ago.

I would guess someone may have found an old pre-2000 posting where H&K MIGHT have stated that they JUST became the importer. In talking to H&K last week, they admitted that they in fact had been the importer, were no longer the importer and did not have any inventory of parts for the gun that I bought, though Caesar Guerini was able to help me.BobRobert KittineNew York, New York & Sag Harbor, New York. Well, I guess the Lion can be (or was called, at one time) an O/U, SxS, or an autoloader. That makes things just about as clear as mud.
Aside from a minor burst of coverage of the so-named 'Red Lion' auto, H & K did very little with Fabarm and gained no traction in the U.S.The H & K reputation as an importer is poor.Frank, you may mean well, but it sounds like you just turned 71 years old, have decide to tour pawnshops and used gun racks, and all of a sudden are getting ad-copy crazy. It is a little late in the day to obsess about 'Steelium' and all the other wing-nut terms to describe a hot streaming pile of nothingness. Like any old used gun, you take your chances, and like any shotgun, if it doesn't fit you, it is worthless.-Randyhttp://randywakeman.com/.
From the Q&A on the Fabarm Site. Guess the type of shotgun a Lion was, was designated by Colors and other defining names. As CG told me on the phone, they will do repair work on them, but not for free.Q. Where do I send my FABARM imported by HK to be repaired?A. Please contact us at 410.901.1260 and we will gladly assist you in getting the gun to our repair facility in Cambridge, Maryland.
We value you as a customer and want to make sure that your firearm is operating safely and properly. If you are sending in your shotgun for repair and it is a Heckler & Koch (also known as HK) imported FABARM shotgun; models known as Red Lion, Gold Lion, Camo Lion, Lion SC, Competition Lion, Rex Lion, FP6, SAT 8, SDASS, Classis, etc.
There will be charges for the labor, parts and shipping as Heckler & Koch is no longer providing lifetime warranty service.BobRobert KittineNew York, New York & Sag Harbor, New York. I owned one of the H&K Silver Lions in 12ga a few years ago.
For the money, I thought it was an 'ok' shotgun. It actually looked pretty good - from a distance. It had, by my recollection, stocks made out of what they called 'Truwood' which up close looked pretty cheesy in my opinion.
I also didn't like the look of the skeletonized latch. Overall, the gun functioned just fine but didn't fit me and I sold it after about a year. I think I paid about $750 for it which I still think was pretty good value for what you got. Far and away better than Turkish guns of the time. Free download uc browser 240x400 version.
